It’s Friday, March 22, 2019. That means it’s the first day of FantaSci, the first 4HU Mini-con. Unfortunately, it will be happening without Major Jimbo as I’m currently at home being too broke to head out and party. It’s all good though, because this is a huge day for the club. Within the next few hours we’ll have active recruiting going on at the con and I’m told there will be a link coming soon where you can sign up online. I’m totally geeked because I know how incredibly hard the rest of the Mercenary Council has been working to make this a reality and I can’t wait till the rest of you get to join into the fun.
I know there has been a cadre uniform designed. I’m not going to post the details here because I haven’t been given permission to do so( I think. I mean, maybe I don’t even need permission? Confused blogger is confused.) but Command Sergeant Major Jacob Engstrom and Colonel Tom Coonradt and it looks great. I’m holding off on getting on at the moment, because if a chapter opens in my area, I plan to join and then I’ll go with that uniform instead, but then again maybe not, because as a Council member, I’m entitled to wear the cadre uniform and it does look really cool…
Or maybe I’ll start my own chapter, because what the 4HU clearly needs is a unit lead by a fat, clumsy guy named Jim…

Well, I guess there’s a reason that Cartwright’s Cavaliers is my favorite unit.
Look, I’m still figuring this out.
But whatever, it’s a sweet look regardless.
The Member Handbook has been completed and should be available soon. The whole council has pitched in on this thing in some way, shape or form and we’re really happy with how it turned out.
The Bylaws are being drafted and debated even as we speak. It’s an ongoing process but we’re just trying to make them as perfect as a group of human beings can get. We’ll get there my friends.
The bottom line here is that this is happening. It’s going live and it’s going to rock harder than a boulder to the face. It’s going to light up our lives like a gently exploding atomic bomb wreathed in flame and fire. It’s going to own like a Rockefeller. It will enrich all of our lives like a bouquet of million dollar bills.
I’m not even making sense any more. That’s how excited I am.
So listen, sign up when you can. Get in on the fun because you don’t want to miss out.

Take lots of pics of 4HU related whatever (Seriosly. Authors, books, Merc Guild members, the dude selling patches, anything) and send them all to mercguildpa@hotmail.com. I’ll feature a bunch of them here as part of my post-con coverage. I can’t wait to see how much fun you all have!
