The Goltar are one of the the 37 mercenary races in the Galactic Union.
The are semi-aquatic and resemble a squid. They prefer fighting with bone pistols and knives and are very swift, often being compared to dancers when fighting. They were known to use powered suits of armor in the early days of the Galactic Union but this fell out of favor after they started to fight large swarms of Goka.
They were once powerful in the Mercenary Guild, but their power has faded. This dates back to the early days of the Galactic Union when they were at war with the Veetanho. As a direct result of this war they have a severe hatred for the Veetanho, and to a lesser extent, the Goka. In the final days of their war the Veetanho unleashed massive swarms of Goka on the Goltar home planet which rendered it uninhabitable.
